Twelve hours
later, the bus stops at the Urgup otogar. It is only
5:15am in the morning, the town is still sleeping. Yet
I am so impressed that the hotel taxi has already been waiting
for me.
The hotel just on top of the hill. Well, instead calling
it a hotel, it is no more than a big traditional house with
three or four bed rooms. However, it is very clean and
cozy. Once a while, I do appreciate my own room and a hot
bath.
Urgup is a very
little town with its own characteristics. Sand stone houses,
cobbled street... The town center is pretty much where everything
is: otogar (bus station), a travel agence, couple restaurants,
some small shops and two or three government buildings. Umm..
I enjoy small town like this more than big cities.
After breakfast,
the tour bus picked me up, along with seven other tourists
from other hotels. We started our two days trip.
Cappadocia indeed has some very interesting landscape. Yet,
I think the City of Petra in Jordan is much more colourful
and impressive. Perhaps I would have appreciated the
view if I visited here first.
The food is
excellent from the local restaurant. That Turkish pizza
and chicken Karba really filled me up. Tomorrow we will
go see the underground city, I better have a good night sleep.
After all, it has been 50 hours since I last slept on
a bed.
