Here I am, waiting
for the 6pm bus to Dahab. The prayer is again broadcasting
from the loud speakers around town. Since it is Ramadan
here, this is the only time they eat and drink for the entire
day. And it is also at this time, that I feel a bit
more comfortable to take out my bread and eat in public.
Some local got offended if you eat in front of them when they
fast.
Today's highlight
is definitely the Karnak Temple! They say if you can
only see one thing in Egypt, it should be the pyramid; if
you can only see two, Karnak Temple should be the second choice!
And sure enough, I easily spent the entire day here in the
temple. Not sure how to express my feeling, only being
amazed and astonished by the scale and engineering of this
ancient temple.
Well, I definitely
enjoyed Luxor much more than Cairo. It is a lovely little
town full with cultures and history. Walking along the
Nile, exploring the two greatest temples, taxing on the horse
carriage..., these became another chapter of my travel, and
surely the memories will last for a long period of time.
The
bus is about to depart, if it is on schedule, I will be in
Dahab 14 hours later. So many travelers told me great
things about the place, I can't wait to see the beautiful
beach, and taste the wonderful foods.
