It is another
lazy beautiful afternoon. The warmth from the sun, the
fresh smell from the Nile, the singing from the birds... all
of us are enjoying this wonderful moment of paradise.
The felucca stops
at the Kom Ombo Temple, which is located about 20 miles north
of Aswan. Built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods,
this temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the
falcon god Haroeris.
At the time we
are there, the temple is under restoration. Perhaps
the locals here don't see much oriental travelers, they seem
a bit surprised to see a Chinese wandering around. Quite
a few of them try to talk to me, unfortunately I don't know
a bit of Arabic. All I can do is smile at them.
