It is my first day in Cairo. The first impression I have about this place is...noise! With 21 million residents, it is a crowded town. Early in the morning, the loud speakers around the city woke me up. I found out later that it is their morning prayer. As Muslims, they pray five times a day, and the first time is 4:30 in the morning!

The Egyptian Museum is just on the other side of the Midan Tahrir. I spent the entire morning and most of the afternoon there. So much to see. All the treasures that I saw from books, magazines and videos are now in front of me! It is quite an amazing place!

Crossing the street here is nearly a suicide mission. Cars won't stop for anything. Traffic lights are just decorations in the street. I don't know how the locals do it, they just zip through the oncoming traffic and land on the other side safely! How amazing.

Walk like the locals, that is all I have in mind. But soon I find myself standing in the middle of the road, eyes glaring wildly, and causing even more horns and yelling from the drivers!.... What an accomplishment, I felt the fist time I crossed the street on my own! All of a sudden, I laughed.
